F in The Garden

The small villiage of Denholm came alive on Saturday 16th August with the Fox & Hound's annual gathering of bands for F in The Garden, Blues, Punk & Rock music streamed out over the beautiful scenery and leather jackets seemed to be the dress code of the day , Denholm is renowned for it's folk music and it took me a little while to adjust to this very different tempo in the place I know as the heart of the Borders folk scene, but great music is very easy to adjust to and being the supportive place that Denholm is, the folkies were out to support the live music too, as were a large pary of women on a hen doo, that was fun! the weather was not great though and with a lot of other music events going on on the same day the numbers turning up to watch were slightly lower than you would normaly expect, such a shame as the setting was perfect, not too big and not too small, the sound was great, not sure who was on the sound desk, but well done whoever it was..having said that, there were still a lot of enthusiastic people watching and enjoying the entertainment.

The running order for the day was: Dark Horse, SPAT, Stubby Cans, Ruff Cut and The Stare, my appoligies to the Stare for not being able to stay to the end and catch their set, but I will come and see you soon, each of the bands brought their own flavour of music to the stage and each in turn were great at what they did, the day had been well thought out, with a BBQ and a jamming session in the pub afterwards..well done to everyone involved

I've taken some photos of the day you can see them by clicking this link: PHOTOS
